A montessori guide (her) and a design snob (him) make for two very busy and opinionated parents! This blog is about their daily lives raising their family, Re-arranging the furniture and tackling home-improvement projects.
chilmac likes her little bouncer. its a no-no to hardcore montessorians because it gives the baby a false sense of weight, gravity... or something like that. dont quote me. I love the way baby girl moves around in it
what about swings? or is it ok for older kids? I once spoke to an occupational therapist that said when kids twist in a swing, it helps them find their "space", in a sense. but it does give them better spatial reasoning no thats not the right word but its something like that.
swings are only for older kids, and those kids have to be able to get in and out of them on their own. at some schools they have swings, but the kids only do tummy swings, until they are old enough to swing on their own.
